Course Introduction

Total 600 contact hours, including 420 contact hours for 5 core modules and 180 for 3 elective modules.

In order to enable students to deepen their understanding of the disciplined services of the HKSARG, a talk series named "Talking to Heads of Disciplinary Forces" will be held for HKCT students and alumni in the 2018-19 academic cohort, with the aim to let students examine carefully whether they are suitable for joining the Force before they take action and determine to be the frontline staff to serve the public.

The DYJ programme puts a lot of emphasis on proactive and interactive learning. Hence, apart from classroom teaching, other modes of learning such as field trips and visits are also adopted for some modules. Except for the English module, the medium of instruction is Cantonese and the course materials are mainly in Chinese. For some of the elective modules, the course materials as well as the assessment are in English. For some other elective modules, students may choose between the stream of having the course materials as well as the assessment in Chinese or the other stream in English.
