HKCT places a lot of emphasis on maintaining close partnership with employers in their recruitment and staff training.

 

Over the past years, we have been working closely with employers in propelling local manpower development.  With the support from employers, different types of activities such as job fairs, internship programmes, company visits, seminars, exchange programmes etc. are arranged for our students. These activities enable students to enrich their experience, broaden their scope of knowledge, uplift their self-confidence and enhance their competitiveness and employability beyond classroom.  Up till now, over 17,000 employers have made use of our free, one-stop recruitment service to hire suitable people whilst many of our students have made use of this service to find the right job.  This is a winning situation for employers, students and HKCT.

 

Another aspect of our partnership with employers is training.  Through our proactive introduction and detailed information, many employers arrange their staff to attend the government-subsidized “Skills Upgrading Scheme Plus” courses and customized corporate training programmes to enhance their employees’ capability in specific areas as well as personal attributes, thereby sharpening their skills and increasing their effectiveness and output at work.

 

In order to keep our training programmes up-to-date and cater to the labour market, HKCT has formed the “Employers Consultative Committee” of different industries/sectors.  We work hand in hand with employers to have new courses corresponding to the trend and needs in the employment market.  From the valuable opinions from employers, we are able to evaluate and improve our services to meet with the challenges and opportunities ahead.
