Diploma in Fitness and Sports - This programme teaches different kinds of sports and fitness knowledge and skills based on exercise science. Students can learn from practices. It helps them understand the related industries and builds up a foundation for their further study and career.

This programme provides the foundation knowledge and skills of different sports and fitness based on exercise science.
As SFOC (Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China)'s partner, HKCT  students are provided with support in life planning, further studies and employment in sports education and development. As early as December 2021, the two sides co-organised the "Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Mainland Olympic Athlete Delegation to Hong Kong" Student Exchange Meeting to receive the delegation group of 6 national gold medalists and a coach. It was the only opportunity for local primary, secondary and tertiary students to interact with the national team elites at the time.

Programme Contents

This programme will teach different kinds of sports and fitness knowledge and skills based on exercise science. Through the training, students can learn from practices. This not only enhances students; interest in sports and fitness, it also helps them understand the needs and development of related industries. Thus, it builds up a foundation for their further studies and career. Upon successful completion of the programne, students can progress to the "Higher Diploma in Fitness, Coaching and Sports Management" offered by HKCT.


Programme Features

  • Students are equipped with both fundamental knowledge, technique and skills of fitness and sports. Graduates may continue to study or seek employment in fitness and sports industry.
  • The programme is taught (supplemented by English terminology) and assessed in Chinese. Students can master subject knowledge more easily with their first language, and meet the operation and needs of the industry.
  • The College has its own professional fitness room, multi-purpose activity dance studio, indoor and outdoor facilities.

Graduation Path

Articulation Path

Graduates are eligible to pursue a "Higher Diploma in Fitness, Coaching and Sports Management" offered by Hong Kong College of Technology.


Career Prospects

Graduates can take up sport and fitness positions (involving training programmes, events and competitions) in the public or private sector, which encompasses schools, sports associations, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, non-profit organisations, residential clubhouses, private sports and recreation clubs.

Entry Requirements
  • Completion of Form 6 under the New Senior Secondary curriculum; OR
  • Holder of Project Yi Jin / Associate Diploma; OR
  • Mature students of age 21 or above; OR
  • Equivalent qualifications; AND
  • Pass in admission interview.
