    The programme is designed to offer a study pathway for eligible secondary school leavers. The two-year full-time programme covers subjects of generic skills and specialised knowledge. It provides training in a specialised language while helping students lay a sound knowledge foundation in Corporate Communication, which aims to enhance student's academic foundation for further articulation and greater employability. This combination effectively caters to the market demand of Hong Kong as an international metropolis for talents with both business sense and language proficiency, especially when the growth in cross-border trade is driving up such demand. The practicality of the programme enables students to be both generalists and specialists to acquire solid knowledge of a selected language and corporate communication for both articulation to degree study and employability enhancement.

     

  • Course Feature

    • Unique sub-degree programme with double majors of Language and Corporate Communication which aims at improving corporate communication skills and developing business sense
    • Graduates may reach the highest level of ‘Japanese Language Proficiency Test’ in only 2 years. Students attained N1 and N2 in JLPT for 3 consecutive years
    • Recognised by Japan Society of Hong Kong, our graduates’ language proficiency is equivalent to Japanese General 2 qualification, exempting proficiency test for Japanese General 3
    • Graduates recognised by the Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies in Japan to enrol in the third year of bachelor's degree programmes. Students admitted to the third year of UGC-funded bachelor’s degree programmes at HKU, CUHK, BU, etc. for 5 consecutive years
    • Scholarships such as the Wai Yin Study Tour Scholarship granted to outstanding students who have financial difficulty joining the Study Tour to Japan
    • To equip students with necessary workplace skills through extra internship programmes
  • Entry Requirements

    • Successful completion of Secondary 6 (Level 2 in 5 HKDSE subjects*) ; or
    • Successful completion of Secondary 7 (1 pass in HKAL or 2 passes in HKAS Level subjects; and 5 passes in HKCEE*); or
    • Holder of Diploma for Tertiary Studies; or
    • Holder of Yi Jin Diploma; or
    • Holder of Pre-Associate Degree / Diploma; or
    • Aged 21 or above with relevant year(s') working experience in related industry(s); or
    • Equivalent qualifications; And
    • Pass in admission interview.

    Year 1: HK$51,920

    Year 2: HK$57,080

    Tuition fees in 2020/21 are subject to the final approval from the Education Bureau.

    Currently working in a Japanese company.In the beginning, I wanted to get a certificate in order to find a job easier. However, during my study in Yi Jin Diploma and Higher Diploma at HKCT, I joined various professional activities arranged by the College, and I got an award in public writing competition. It aroused my interest in Japanese language and culture and built my confidence in using Japanese in different occasions. Now, I am working in Japanese company. I am happy to apply what I have learnt in my career.
