    This Postgraduate Diploma in Health and Safety programme is conferred by Leeds Beckett University, UK. Health and safety is an integral and important part of any organization – whether you work as an operations manager, office manager, engineer or technician, you will be involved with ensuring a safe working environment for everyone. We will develop your knowledge of how different organisations use varying levels of safety procedures and you will assess their impact on the whole company. This is also a path towards becoming a professional Registered Safety Officer (RSO).

  • Entry Requirements

    • Applicants who either have at least a second class honours degree in any discipline with evidence of an aptitude for health and safety or have equivalent experience or training, normally from the work environment.
    • The English requirement for this course is IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5 or a pass in HKCT English Test or equivalent.
    • Applicants who do not satisfy the above entry requirements may be admitted at the discretion of the University through an interview and assessment by a committee.
  • Tuition Fees

    • HK$56,000 in three instalments (1st two instalments $19,000 and 3rd instalment $18,000)
    • Administration Fee: HK$1,500 (Upon 1st instalment)

    All tuition fees are subject to annual review and change without prior notice.

  • Tuition Fees Assistance

    Early Bird Discount (for Sep intake)

    • Application should be submitted on or before 31 July 2019.
    • The Early Bird Discount $2,000 will be made in the last instalment of tuition fee payment.

     

    HKCT Alumni Fee Reduction

    • HKCT former student who has completed a one year programme or above is eligible.
    • 5% of total tuition fee reduction (max $1,000) will be made in the last instalment of tuition fee payment.
  • Course Structure

    Students have to complete 6 taught modules in 3 semesters, the standard length of study is 12 months.

     

    Semester One

    • Ergonomics
    • Health and Safety Practice

     

    Semester Two

    • Occupational Health and Wellbeing
    • Professional Practice and Development

     

    Semester Three

    • Quantitative Risk Analysis
    • Sensible Risk Management

     

    Assessment

    • Examination, Coursework, Presentation (as per the requirement of each module)

     

    Mode of Delivery

    • Each taught module consists of face-to-face lectures and tutorials. All classes are scheduled on weekday evenings, Saturdays and/or Sundays.

     

    Course content is subject to review and changes without prior notice.

  • Professional Qualification

    This programme is accredited by Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Graduates of this programme are eligible to apply for Graduate Membership of IOSH.
