Introduction
BSc (Hons) Facilities Management* (Registration Number: 250793), This programme covers a wide range of estates related aspects of sustainable business in order to support the core activities of an enterprise, including building and estates development, maintenance management and building services provision and control.
The programme is awarded by University of Central Lancashire and focuses on developing professionals of estates related aspects so to support the core activities of an enterprise.
Professional Qualification

This programme is accredited by: 

  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible to apply for Membership of RICS;

  • Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible to apply for Membership of CABE; 
  • Building Services Operation and Maintenance Executives Society (BSOMES), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible to apply for Membership of BSOMES;
  • the Hong Kong Institution of Incorporated Engineers (HKIIE), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible for applying for Membership of HKIIE; 
  • the Hong Kong Institute of Clerks of Works (HKICW), graduates will be granted certain extent of exemption to final part II apply for MHKICW; 
  • Hong Kong Institute of Certified Property Managers (HKCPM), graduates who fulfil specified education and professional development requirements are eligible for applying for Membership of HKCPM.

           

Contents
This programme covers a wide range of estates related aspects of sustainable business in order to support the core activities of an enterprise, including building and estates development, maintenance management and building services provision and control. The concept of sustainability has been incorporated in most of the modules in the restoration of our environment. Students have to complete 6 taught modules and a dissertation in four semesters, the minimum length of study is 15 months and the maximum length of study for this programme is 30 months.

  • UK Bachelor’s degree: Students can study in Hong Kong and obtain a Bachelor’s Degree awarded by University of Central Lancashire, UK
  • One-on-one teaching: Dissertation is conducted in one-on-one teaching, increasing the interaction between students and supervisors
  • Diverse Learning: Students are offered site visit opportunities to study the latest building conservation techniques in Hong Kong.
  • Articulation Pathway: Students who have completed this Bachelor’s Degree programmes with satisfactory results can apply for the MSc Construction Project Management*(Reg No.: 252849) conferred by the University of Central Lancashire in UK

Students have to complete 6 taught modules and a dissertation in 4 semesters, the minimum length of study is 15 months and the maximum length of study for this programme is 30 months .

Entry Requirements
  • Applicants should be holders of Higher Diploma in Building Technology awarded by HKCT with relevant industrial experience; or
  • Holders of Higher Diploma/ Associate Degree/ Higher Certificate in Building Studies/ Facilities Management/ Estate Management/ Surveying or related discipline from local recognised institutions, with relevant industrial experience.
  • Applicants should possess English proficiency level up to IELTS 6 or a pass in HKCT English Test or English as medium of instruction in previous postsecondary study or HKDSE English: Level 3 at Category A English language or equivalent, or
  • Applicants should possess English Proficiency fulfilling the University's requirement.
  • Applicants who do not satisfy the above academic entry requirement may be admitted at the discretion of the University
