  • Contents

    The BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying programme which is conferred by the Leeds Beckett University, UK, is designed for those who wish to be at the centre of the management of construction procurement processes. You will learn about the issues affecting how quantity surveyers organise, control and manage the costing of building projects - from building economics to contracts and construction law, from construction technology to project management. You will undertake individual and group assessments to develop core skills. With your excellent analytical, arithmetical and IT skills, we will help you to develop as an innovative individual and team player with the problem solving and transferrable skills necessary to succeed in this ever-evolving field.

     

  • Entry Requirements

    • Applicants should be holders of Higher Diploma in Building Technology awarded by HKCT with relevant industrial experience; or
    • Holders of Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate in Quantity Surveying, Surveying or related discipline with relevant industrial experience.
    • Applicants should possess English proficiency level up to IELTS 6 or a pass in HKCT English Test or English as a medium of instruction in previous postsecondary study or HKDSE English: Level 3 at Category A English language or equivalent.
    • Applicants who do not satisfy the above entry requirements may be admitted at the discretion of the University through an interview and assessment by a committee.
  • Tuition Fees

    • HK$72,000 in four instalments
    • Administration Fee: HK$1,500 (Upon 1st instalment)

    ^ All tuition fees are subject to annual review and change without prior notice.

  • Tuition Fees Assistance

    Early Bird Discount (for Sep intake)

    • Application should be submitted on or before 31 July 2019.
    • The Early Bird Discount $2,000 will be made in the last instalment of tuition fee payment.

    HKCT Alumni Fee Reduction

    • HKCT former student who has completed a one year programme or above is eligible.
    • 5% of total tuition fee reduction (max $1,000) will be made in the last instalment of tuition fee payment.
  • Course Structure

    Students have to complete 6 taught modules and a dissertation, the minimum length of study is 15 months. Students must complete "Construction Contracts" & "Interdisciplinary Project" before admission to other modules.

    • Contemporary Economic Modelling
    • Experiential Learning

    Semester Three

    • Contemporary Issues in the Built Environment (BIM)
    • Dissertation (Part I)

    Semester Four

    • Dissertation (Part II)

    Assessment

    • Taught modules:
      Examination, Coursework, Presentation (as per the requirement of each module)
    • Dissertation:
      Interim Report, Presentation and Final Report (100%)

    Mode of Delivery

    • Each taught module consists of face-to-face lectures and tutorials. All classes are scheduled on weekday evenings, Saturdays and/or Sundays.

  • Professional Qualification

    • This programme is accredited by Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE). Graduates who fulfil the specified education with adequate working experience requirements are eligible to apply for membership of CABE.
    • The programme will also week for accreditation from Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
