Programme Recognition

The Hong Kong Qualifications Framework

The Education Bureau officially launched the Qualifications Framework (QF) in Hong Kong in 2008. The QF defines clear and objective standards applicable to qualifications in the academic, vocational and professional as well as continuing education sectors and assure the quality of qualifications and the associated learning programmes available to learners. The QF consists of seven levels covering qualifications that range from certificates to doctorates. The public can search the QF-recognised programmes in the centralised online database of Qualifications Register (QR).

The full-time and part-time programmes provided by HKCT and accredited by Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), including Bachelor Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma, Diploma of Applied Education, Diploma Yi Jin and Senior Secondary Applied Learning programmes, are level-rated in accordance with the standard of QF and listed in the QR. HKCT and HKCAAVQ conduct regular reviews to ensure the programme quality. The QF logo is placed next to the QF-recognised programmes for identification on the website.
