Ms Woo Shui-oi, Standard Security & Property Management Retraining Program (2003)
If mothers are a tough role, single mothers are twice as tough – not only do they have children to take care of, but also the responsibility to earn the bread. Woo Shui-oi, then still a new immigrant who saw her husband leaving, has resolved to raise her two sons by herself. To add value, she enrolled in an employee retraining programme at HKCT and became a security guard for more than ten years. She has worked tirelessly for both career and family – a "super mom" who brought up two children, and an outstanding employee in property management commended by the ERB and the Hong Kong Police. She is now a Regional Chief Building Supervisor.
