Programme Aims
This programme aims to train students as interior designers, fostering aesthetics, spatial awareness, and proficiency in 2D/3D tools (including drawing & model making).
In addition to the essential skills of interior designers, this programme teaches Building Information Modeling (BIM), the industry-standard tool for architectural and interior design. BIM creates 3D digital models, integrating design, construction, and maintenance information on a shared platform for better collaboration and efficiency.
This programme provides a solid industry knowledge for students and provide 280 hours of internship opportunities, enabling graduates to directly enter the interior design industry or pursue further studies, meeting the demands of the interior design market and the recent development of the Northern Metropolis in Hong Kong.
Programme Contents
This programme features a comprehensive range of design theories and techniques and interior design knowledge, with an aim to sharpen students’ competitiveness for future careers or studies and hone the professional skills and lay a good foundation of interior design for students who aspire to work in the related fields. With the rapid development of science and technology, students not only need to understand traditional design skills, but also to master technology and media. In this course, students have the opportunity to access brand-new computer design software and integrate different design elements such as material application in design projects, space planning, etc. to develop creativity and design talents.
Students on this Interior Design programme won a Silver Award at the 2024 International Design Awards (IDA), a proof to the programme's success in cultivating students' innovative thinking, practical skills and international perspective.
