"The Song of HKCT" Lyrics Writing Competition

Every line of lyrics is a story; every melody connects the hearts of the HKCT community. Within the HKCT campus, you may have shared laughter, strived for success, built memories bit by bit, and held infinite imagination for the future. "The Song of HKCT" Lyrics Writing Competition invites you to transform your sense of belonging to the school, the imprint of your personal growth, your pursuit of professionalism, and your hopes for the nation into touching words. We do not need flowery language; we only need your most sincere emotions to jointly compose a new chapter of the youthful power expected by our country.

Entry Requirements
Lyrics must be created based on the following two major directions, with at least one theme selected from each direction:

Direction 1: Starting from the Individual and HKCT

  1. HKCT's characteristics and advocacy
  2. Traits and embodiment of HKCT people
  3. Self-identity

Direction 2: Vision for Society and the Nation

  1. Opportunities and challenges in the development of network technology
  2. Inheritance and innovation of Chinese culture
  3. Expectations for the development of Hong Kong and the Nation
Remarks
  • Participants are welcome to compose both lyrics and music.
  • At least one representative of each participating unit must attend the "The Song of HKCT" Lyrics Writing Competition Briefing Session cum Workshop.
  • The organiser will select ten outstanding works and will choose lyrics to be set to music. During this process, lyrics may be modified, and depending on the situation, winners may be invited to co-edit.
  • The school reserves the right of final decision regarding all arrangements and results of this competition.

At least one representative of each participating unit may attend the "The Song of HKCT" Lyrics Writing Competition Briefing Session cum Workshop.

Venue: Student Centre Café, HKCT Jockey Club Undergraduate Campus (MUC)

Awards
  • Shortlisted Award (20 units): HK$300 Cash or Vouchers
  • Outstanding Award (10 units): HK$1,000 Cash or Vouchers

Plagiarism, and content involving pornography, sensitive politics, or discrimination are prohibited.

Judging will be conducted by a team composed of the College Management, the Division of Languages & General Studies, the Department of Student Development, and the Department of Marketing and Communications.
