Job Description

Head of Division

Division of Languages and General Studies

Duties

To lead the Division in providing academic leadership in Languages and General Studies programmes
To provide strategic planning and develop resource deployment strategies to support the effective operation and long‑term sustainability of the discipline, in alignment with the Institution’s mission and objectives
To steer and supervise the academic team for quality teaching, curriculum development and programme quality assurance
To liaise with internal and external stakeholders to contribute for Division-wide and institutional initiatives
To explore and forge the academic and professional networks for programme development and discipline advancement
To undertake teaching duties and supervise student projects where necessary
To perform other duties assigned by supervisors

Requirements

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in a related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution
At least 8 years’ working experience, of which 4 years’ relevant experience and, preferably with experience in programme management and external accreditation
Demonstrable strong leadership and people-management skills, with agility and resilience in an ever-changing environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese
