HKCT Warns Against Suspicious Website Falsely Using HKCT Information to Collect Personal Data
HKCT Institute of Higher Education and Hong Kong College of Technology (“HKCT”) has recently discovered a suspicious website with the URL http://hkct.jupinzan.com/. This website unlawfully uses HKCT’s name without authorization and copies parts of HKCT’s official website content to disguise fabricated school and program information. It aims to lure visitors into providing their private WeChat-linked mobile numbers to steal personal data for further misuse.
HKCT hereby solemnly declares that our institution has never authorized this website to publish any information related to HKCT or collect personal data. All content on this website has not been verified by HKCT and is suspected of misleading the public and illegally obtaining personal privacy.
Our institution takes this matter seriously and will report it to relevant authorities and pursue legal responsibility as appropriate. HKCT urges the public, students, and parents to stay vigilant, not to trust the false content on the above-mentioned website, and never provide any personal information or conduct any transactions on that site to avoid being deceived.
