HKCT Financial Support

Full-time students of HKCT Higher Education can apply for the following financial assistance provided by HKCT according to the programme level.

Objective

HKCT provides the “HKCT Excellence Award” to students with excellent academic performance and whose family is experiencing financial hardship so as to enhance their academic endeavours.

Amount

Each successful applicant will be granted a maximum full-tuition fee waiver for this year of study. A limited number of scholarships are available.

Target & Requirement

HKDSE graduates:

- Attained at least Level 4 or above in 4 subjects; and
- With financial difficulties; and
- Pass the selection procedure and interview; and
- Being accepted to enroll in

- Diploma (1-year, Full -time); or

- Professional Diploma (1-year, Full-time); or

- Higher Diploma (2-year, Full-time); or

- Bachelor’s Degree of HKCT Institute of Higher Education (CTIHE) (4-year, Full-time, Year 1 or Year 3 intake)

Graduates of Diploma of Applied Education / Diploma Yi Jin:

- Attained total scores 31 or above; and
- With financial difficulties; and
- Pass the selection procedure and interview; and
- Being accepted to enroll in

- Diploma (1-year, Full -time); or

- Professional Diploma (1-year, Full-time); or

- Higher Diploma (2-year, Full-time)

Graduates of Diploma / Professional Diploma / Higher Diploma / Associate Degree:

- Attained overall GPA 3.3 or above in the preceding programme; and
- With financial difficulties; and
- Pass the selection procedure and interview; and
- Being accepted to enroll in

- Diploma (1-year, Full -time); or

- Professional Diploma (1-year, Full-time); or

- Higher Diploma (2-year, Full-time); or

- Bachelor’s Degree of HKCT Institute of Higher Education (CTIHE) (4-year, Full-time, Year 1 or Year 3 intake)

Current HKCT students:

- Study in 1-year or above Full-time programme; and
- Attained overall GPA 3.3 or above in the preceding year of study; and
- With financial difficulties; and
- Pass the selection procedure and interview

Important Notes

‘HKCT Excellence Award’ cannot be applied with ‘Entrance Scholarship’ and other ‘Grants’ simultaneously.
Assessment of the applicants’ eligibility and the granting of financial assistance are subject to the final decision of the Institute’s Selection Panel. Applicants’ objection to the final result will not be accepted.

"Just for You+" Tuition Subsidy Scheme

Scheme Objective

The "Just for You+" Tuition Subsidy Scheme aims to assist students who have financial difficulties and do not benefit from any government assistance, providing a $5,000 tuition fee subsidy to each approved applicant.

Eligibility Criteria

Working Poor
N Have-nots
Underemployment
Working as casual worker for living
Other financial difficulties

Date of Application

The scheme opens for online application on December 28, 2023.

Approval Procedure

After receiving the application, the HKCT interdepartmental assessment team will consider the applicant's family or personal financial situation, as well as the reasons for enrolling in the designated programmes and post-graduation goals. The application result will be notified to the applicant by email and SMS within 5 working days (excluding the application day).

Important Notes

Applicants must be registered as HKCT students in order to be approved for the '' Just for You+'' tuition subsidy.
After applicants receive the "Just for You+" tuition subsidy, the paid tuition fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Applying for the "Just for You+" tuition subsidy does not mean enrolling in any programme. Applicants must separately complete application and admission for the relevant HKCT programme.
"Just for You+" tuition subsidy cannot be applied with other ‘Grants’ simultaneously.
HKCT reserves the right to have the final decision on the "Just for You+" tuition subsidy.
