Sports Coaching Qualification Validation Scheme

Introduction

The Qualification Verification Scheme provides a recognition pathway for individuals who already possess relevant professional qualifications. Eligible applicants may be exempted from completing the “The Sports-General Theories Coach Accreditation Programme”, jointly offered by HKCTIHE and the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC). Through this scheme, qualified individuals can obtain direct recognition of their professional credentials, thereby meeting the requirements for applying for accredited coaching qualifications.

Objectives

• To provide another path for coaches to acquire accredited qualifications.
• To ensure the quality of accredited coaches.
• To facilitate coaches’ development and progression in learning and careers.

Applicants should have successfully obtained qualifications from the relevant courses in the list within the last five years to be eligible for obtaining a qualification equivalent to the Level 3 Coach (Sports-General Theory).

For courses on the recognised list: HKD$200
For courses outside the recognised list: HKD$500

• a completed application form (Click here);
• certified true copies of relevant qualifications (Certificates, Official transcripts, etc.);
• a recent colour photo taken within three months, Size: 1.5 inches (W) x 2 inches (H); and
• a non-refundable application and assessment fee of HKD$200/500 (crossed cheque payable to "Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China").

After all information collected is verified, the SF&OC Coaching Division will send the Qualification Validation Confirmation Letter, Coach Accreditation Card and Coach Logbook (if applicable) by registered mail to successful applicants within eight weeks.
