Programme Aims

Generation Z and Generation Alpha have grown up in the era of digital games, where gaming is not only a form of leisure but also an important social medium. Driven by Web 3.0, GameFi (gamified finance) and Play-to-Earn (P2E) models are bringing new economic models to the industry, while various sectors are increasingly using gaming elements to create innovative digital customer experiences, further driving the market demand for skilled technical developers. At the same time, tech giants are actively expanding into XR (Extended Reality) and AI technologies, accelerating innovative applications across different industries and creating unprecedented opportunities for programmers and software developers.

In response to this trend, this programme aims to help students embark on their learning journey in mobile game development and app development, equipping them with essential technical foundations to prepare for future careers in the industry. In addition to mobile game development, this programme also covers full-stack web and mobile application development, enabling students to explore broader opportunities in the digital technology sector, advance their careers as developers, and expand their higher education options.

Programme Contents

The Higher Diploma in Computer Studies (Mobile Applications and Game Development) puts a dual focus on mobile applications development and mobile game development. It will equip students with the essential knowledge and practical skills for developing the full-stack responsive web, native and cross-platform mobile applications and small-scale 2D/3D mobile games using contemporary technologies and development approaches. The programme aims to address the increasing demand for multi-skilled developers to support various kinds of development projects in software firms. It also prepares students for pursuing further studies in related fields.
