HKCT Bachelor's Degree

HKCT has been leading Vocational & Professional Education and Training, offering a wide range of programmes to fulfill the needs of students of different ages and levels. HKCT Institute of Higher Education provides full-time and part-time Bachelor’s Degree in various disciplines including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Sports Management, and Social Work.

Study Mode

HKCT's Bachelor's Degree programmes are delivered in full-time mode with face-to-face teaching. Some Bachelor's Degree programmes also offer a part-time mode, suitable for working professionals or students who require flexible learning arrangements.

Regarding programme structure, Bachelor's Degree programmes are mainly divided into 4-year programmes (for Year 1 entry) and 2-year programmes (for Year 3/ senior year entry). The curriculum encompasses professional theory, practical training, and industry placements. For example, the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Sports Management with Coaching, students are required to study core professional subjects, elective subjects and complete 300 hours of industry placement, which emphasises a balance between theory and practice. Other disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Social Work also include placement opportunities, group projects and interdisciplinary learning modules. Some programmes will arrange collaborations with industry to enhance employability.

HKCT offers below full-time Bachelor's Degree programmes:

Humanities and Social Sciences

  • Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Social Work（Year 1／Year 3 Entry）

Sports

  • Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Sports Management with Coaching（Year 1／Year 3 Entry）

Computer Science and Information Technology

  • Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science and AI Engineering（Year 1／Year 3 Entry）
  • Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science and Cybersecurity（Year 1／Year 3 Entry）
Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Social Work
  • Over 21 years of experience in running higher diploma courses in social work
  • The programme has been approved by the Social Workers Registration Board and graduates can apply to become registered social workers
  • Graduates can serve as Assistant Social Work Officer (ASWO) or equivalent
  • The 900-hour* internship allows students to gain experience in the organizations for young people, the elderly, rehabilitation and families
  • Under the Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme for Full-time Self-financing Undergraduate Studies in Hong Kong ($35,120 subsidy annually)
  • Students who have completed the 2-year HKCT Higher Diploma in Social Work and fulfilled designated requirements will be eligible to receive admission offer of this 2-year Bachelor programme of senior-year entry (i.e. direct entry to the third year of the Programme)

* 100 hours of preparation study before placement and 800 hours of placement in different organizations

Programme Details:

Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Sports Management with Coaching
  • Covers subjects of Sports Management, Sports Coaching and Sports Sciences, trains students into a knowledge-based professional
  • Strategic use of medium of instruction, most subjects are taught in Chinese and other subjects are taught in English
  • Provides opportunities of practical work sporadically apart from the internship for 300 hours
  • Under the Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme for Full-time Self-financing Undergraduate Studies in Hong Kong ($35,120 subsidy annually)
  • A specific "Physical Development Excellence Scholarship" is established. Successful applicants are granted a maximum full-tuition fee waiver for the entire study duration after deduction of NMTSS of the programme
  • Students who have completed the 2-year HKCT Higher Diploma in Fitness, Coaching and Sports Management, or any sports-related sub-degree programme by other colleges (QF level 4), and fulfilled designated requirements will be eligible to receive admission offer of this 2-year Bachelor programme of senior-year entry (i.e. direct entry to the third year of the Programme)

Programme Details:

Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science and AI Engineering
  • The programme covers core AI theoretical knowledge, including engineering mathematics, data science, cloud computing and machine learning algorithms
  • Emphasises practical applications, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in computer vision, natural language processing and robotics
  • Students will gain valuable insights from AI specialists from overseas and mainland China, ensuring they stay at the cutting edge of industry developments
  • Participate in exchange programmes and internships at renowned organisations to gain valuable real-world experience
  • Students who have completed the 2-year HKCT Higher Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence or any computer science and information technology-related sub-degree programme from HKCT or other colleges (QF level 4) and have fulfilled the designated requirements will be eligible to receive an admission offer for this 2-year Bachelor programme for senior-year entry (i.e., direct entry to the third year of the programme).

Programme Details:

Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science and Cybersecurity
  • The programme offers knowledge in cybersecurity and computer science, broadening students' career prospects
  • The ‘Security Operations Centre’ and ‘Cyber Range and Practice Centre’ provide students with a real cyber attack and defence environment
  • Through established partnerships with renowned technology companies, students can stay current with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in cybersecurity
  • The programme helps students prepare for various cybersecurity certifications, such as CISSP, CISA, and CISP
  • Students who have completed the 2-year HKCT Higher Diploma in Cybersecurity (Testing and Compliance) or any computer science and information technology-related sub-degree programme from HKCT or other colleges (QF level 4) and have fulfilled the designated requirements will be eligible to receive an admission offer for this 2-year Bachelor programme for senior-year entry (i.e., direct entry to the third year of the programme).

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for full-time Bachelor's Degree programmes (Year 1 entry) at HKCT are mainly based on the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) "332A2" standard, including: Level 3 in Chinese* & English Languages, Level 2 in Mathematics (Compulsory Part) and one elective subject#, and an "Attained" level in Citizenship and Social Development+. The performance in Applied Learning subjects would be considered on a case-by-case basis. Some programmes accept other entry qualifications, including being 21 years of age or above, or holding equivalent qualifications, and passing an admission interview.

For applicants entering Year 3 (senior year), the general requirement is to hold a relevant Higher Diploma or Associate Degree and pass an admission interview.

HKCT will provide both physical and online admission services from now until 28 August 2026, allowing students to choose the method that best suits their individual needs.

Online Admission:
Step 1: Programme consultation through WhatsApp / Phone (if needed)
Step 2: Apply programme via online application platform
Step 3: Submit identity document and academic qualification via WhatsApp
Step 4: Conduct admission interview via Zoom (if needed)
Step 5: Receive interview result and admission or conditional offer via email
Step 6: Pay deposit or first payment to secure the placement

Physical Recruitment Centres:
Step 1: Meet with our programme consultation advisor (if needed)
Step 2: Apply programme via HKCT online application and payment platform
Step 3: Submit true copies of your identity document and academic qualification at our verification counter
Step 4: Conduct admission interview
Step 5: Wait for your interview and admission/conditional offer result at the result waiting area
Step 6: Pay deposit to secure the placement at the cashier
