Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in innovation and technology, economic development, digital transformation, and innovation across various industries.

To meet societal development needs, the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science and AI Engineering programme aims to nurture professionals with expertise in computer science and AI engineering, addressing the urgent market demand for AI talent and equipping graduates for the AI sector. Students will acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence, including programming, data structures, algorithms, machine learning, natural language processing and computer vision, preparing them for successful careers in the AI field.

Programme Aims

Our AI Bachelor's programme focuses on the practical application of AI technologies, particularly in designing AI systems, models and algorithms to solve real-world challenges. Applied AI emphasises the cross-disciplinary integration of AI technologies across various domains. Our AI Bachelor's programme strengthens students' capabilities in AI modelling and algorithmic analysis design, enhances their practical problem-solving abilities in AI applications, and cultivates professionals who can comprehend, analyse and resolve challenges related to AI algorithmic analysis design, AI engineering technology development, and practical AI algorithm implementation.

This AI Bachelor's programme focuses on core AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, Machine Learning (including Deep Learning), Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Data Science. Students will master AI theory and applications, learning to use deep neural networks and LLMs for practical applications. The programme aims to foster AI integration and innovation skills, preparing graduates for careers in AI and related high-tech industries.

Local Students

  • Attained HKDSE Level 3 in Chinese Language1 and English Language; and
    • ‘Attained’ level of ‘Citizenship and Social Development’2; and
    • Level 2 in Mathematics (Compulsory Part); and
    • Level 2 in one elective subject3, and the performance in Applied Learning subjects would be considered on a case-by-case basis; or
  • Pass in HKALE Chinese Language and Culture, Use of English and 1 A-Level or 2 AS-Level subjects; and Pass in 5 HKCEE subjects, including Chinese and English; or
  • 28 or above out of 42 points in International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and fulfilled the English language requirement; or
  • Aged 21 or above with at least 1 years’ working experience, and demonstration of strong interest and capability to study the programme in the admission interview; or
  • Equivalent qualifications; and
  • Pass in admission interview.

    1 ‘Attained’ level of Applied Learning Chinese (for non-Chinese speaking students) is accepted as Chinese Language qualification for the admission, but it is not considered as an elective subject.
    2 Equivalent to ‘Level 2’ for the HKDSE subject ‘Liberal Studies’ before 2024/25.
    3 ‘Level 2’ in Mathematics Extended Part (Module 1 or Module 2) is also recognised as meeting the general entry requirements.

The tuition fee above is under 2026/27 Cohort.
This programme is subsidised under Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme (NMTSS). In the 2025/26 academic year, a subsidy of up to $35,120 per academic year will be provided to each eligible local student admitted to this programme. The first-year tuition fee after subsidy is $57,880.
