HKCT Full-time Higher Education Programme

HKCT's further education programmes cover various levels of the Qualifications Framework, ranging from full-time Diploma of Applied Education/Diploma, Higher Diploma programmes, Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes. Subject areas include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), Mobile Applications and Game Development, Sports Management, Music Production, Social Science, Social Work, Discipline Services, Early Childhood Education, Aviation and Hospitality, Design & Media Production, Western Culinary, Communications, Public Relations and Languages, and Professional Beauty.

Programme Level

HKCT offers a wide range of programmes across various levels, allowing students to flexibly plan their academic pathways based on their individual interests and developmental needs. From full-time Diploma of Applied Education/Diploma and Higher Diploma programmes to Bachelor's and Master's degrees, HKCT provides a comprehensive educational ladder, helping students progressively enhance their professional skills and academic qualifications, paving the way for future career advancement.

Full-time Master's Degree Programme

HKCT offers Master's degree programmes, primarily in Social Sciences, dedicated to cultivating leaders and innovative thinkers equipped to meet the evolving needs of society. These programmes enable students to deepen their expertise in Social Sciences, equipping them with the specialist knowledge and skills required for effective career counselling and social service management. Graduates gain professional recognition, enhancing their career competitiveness.

Full-time Bachelor's Degree Programme

HKCT offers a diverse range of four-year full-time Honours Bachelor's degree programmes, encompassing specialist areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Sports Management, and Social Work. Students can first complete a two-year Higher Diploma programme, then articulate to Bachelor's degree (Year 3 entry). Some programmes are subsidised by the government's Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme (NMTSS), reducing the financial burden on students.

The above programmes are provided by HKCT Institute of Higher Education.
 This programme is subsidised under the "Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme" with annual subsidy amount of $35,120 in 2025/26. The Scheme is subject to annual review by the government.

Full-time Higher Diploma Programme

HKCT offers a wide array of Higher Diploma programmes across various disciplines, including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things, Sports Management, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Tourism and Hospitality, and Design & Media Production. Students gain specialist knowledge and practical experience during the two-year Higher Diploma and can seamlessly articulate to a related full-time Bachelor's degree via the "2+2 articulation pathway," ensuring a smooth progression within HKCT.

Students who have completed this 2-year programme and fulfilled designated requirements will be eligible to receive admission offer of the related 2-year CTIHE Bachelor Degree of senior-year entry (i.e. direct entry to the third year of the Programme).

Eligible local students will receive an annual subsidy up to $23,390 or $40,730 on the specific Higher Diploma programmes in the 2026/27 academic year under 'Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors' (SSSDP). The Scheme is subject to annual review by the government.HKCT offers the lowest tuition fee after deduction of SSSDP maximum subsidy when comparing with other institutions' higher diploma programmes in the same discipline. Students can enjoy the lowest tuition fee of applying government recognised higher diploma programmes.

This course has been included in the list of reimbursable courses under Continuing Education Fund.

Full-time Diploma of Applied Education

HKCT's Diploma of Applied Education programmes are primarily designed for secondary school leavers or individuals aged 21 and above. Covering a broad range of vocational fields, these programmes provide practical foundational training. Upon completion of the one-year programme, students can progress to a two-year full-time Higher Diploma, embarking on their academic journey at HKCT.

Full-time Diploma Programme

HKCT's Diploma programmes focus on Creative Design (Visual Communication / Interior Design) and are accredited by the Continuing Education Fund. Students can build a solid professional foundation through the one-year full-time Diploma programme and subsequently advance to a two-year full-time Higher Diploma, continuing their academic progression within HKCT. 

This course has been included in the list of reimbursable courses under Continuing Education Fund.

Highlighted Programmes

HKCT offers an integrated pathway for academic advancement. Students can commence their studies with a Diploma of Applied Education or a Diploma, proceed to a Higher Diploma, and subsequently articulate to a Bachelor's Degree, realizing a '1+2+2 articulation pathway'. Additionally, some of the full-time programmes are covered under the 'Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP)', providing annual government subsidies of $23,390 or $40,730. Meanwhile, some full-time Bachelor's degree programmes are eligible for the Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme (NMTSS), with a maximum annual subsidy of $35,120. These financial assistance schemes enable students to complete their studies at HKCT with more affordable tuition fees.


 

Application Method

Applications for HKCT full-time programmes (including Diploma, Higher Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, and Master's Degree) are accepted both online and in person. Online applications can be submitted through the "HKCT Online Application and Payment System." For in-person applications, please submit the application form at an HKCT campus. Applicants must provide relevant academic qualifications and pay the application fee as required by each programme. Some programmes may also require an interview.

Dedicated application channels are also available for full-time Diploma of Applied Education and ERB placement-tied programmes.

HKCT programmes offer a clear and structured academic progression pathway. Students can begin with a 1-year full-time Diploma or Diploma of Applied Education, progress to a 2-year Higher Diploma, and then articulate to a Bachelor's Degree through either year 1 or year 3 entry entry. Finally, they can pursue a 1-year full-time Master's Degree.
